Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has extended Eid al-Adha greetings to Muslims in Borno State and across Nigeria, urging citizens to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, and peaceful coexistence during the celebration.
Governor Zulum, who is currently in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia performing the Hajj pilgrimage, described Eid al-Adha as a significant period for Muslims to reflect on the values of devotion, selflessness, and obedience exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, the governor called on Muslims to use the festive season to support the less privileged and strengthen unity within communities.
Zulum reaffirmed his administration’s determination to sustain peace and security across Borno State, especially in communities that have been resettled following years of insurgency.

According to him, the government will continue to collaborate with the military, security agencies, and volunteer groups to ensure lasting peace and stability in the state.
“We will continue to work very closely with the military and other security agencies as well as volunteer forces to ensure peace and tranquility prevail in our communities. My administration’s commitment to security is second to none,” the governor stated.
He also pledged to intensify efforts toward the resettlement of displaced communities and empowerment of vulnerable citizens, including internally displaced persons, refugees, and returnees.
Zulum assured residents that additional communities would be resettled before the end of his administration, while empowerment programmes aimed at improving livelihoods would also be expanded.
The governor further reiterated his commitment to completing ongoing developmental projects across the state before the expiration of his tenure.
