The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau I. Jibrin, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, charity, and prayers as Muslims across the country celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.

In a Sallah message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Malam Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau urged Muslims and other Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace, national unity, and continued progress in the country.

The lawmaker, who also serves as the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, congratulated Nigerian pilgrims currently performing the Hajj in Saudi Arabia and appealed to them to remember Nigeria and its leaders in their prayers at the holy sites.

According to him, prayers offered during the sacred pilgrimage period are crucial for the country’s peace, stability, and economic prosperity.

Senator Barau also appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the administration remains committed to addressing the nation’s challenges and improving the welfare of citizens.

He noted that Eid-el-Kabir symbolises total submission to the will of Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, and urged citizens to uphold values such as sacrifice, obedience, tolerance, justice, and charity.

The Deputy Senate President further encouraged Nigerians to extend support to the poor and vulnerable during the celebration, stressing the need for citizens to work together in building a peaceful and economically strong nation.

He expressed optimism that with sustained efforts and collective support for the government, Nigeria would achieve greater stability and prosperity.

“Eid Mubarak to all Muslims and Nigerians,” he said.
