The Obi-Kwankwaso New Nigeria movement has appointed Mr. Muawiya Gambo Mairoba as its new Deputy National Coordinator, replacing Mr. Samir Hanga, who recently left the platform following his defection from the New Nigeria Development (NDC) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The appointment was announced by the National Coordinator of the movement, Mr. Chibuisi Mba, as part of efforts to strengthen political alignment and improve operational efficiency within the organisation.

Mairoba, who hails from Kano State, is described by the movement as an experienced grassroots mobiliser and a strong supporter of the political ideals of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Speaking with SolaceBase on Sunday, Mairoba confirmed his appointment and explained that his emergence followed the decision of the leadership to fill the position after Hanga’s departure from the platform.
He said the leadership of the Obi-Kwankwaso New Nigeria movement presented his name before the organisation’s highest decision-making committee on Sunday, where his appointment as Deputy National Coordinator for the North-West was approved.
Mairoba said the leadership considered it necessary to fill the vacant position following Hanga’s change of political affiliation.

“Following the change of political party by the person who previously occupied the position, Samir Hanga, who moved from the NDC to the APC, the leadership of the Obi-Kwankwaso New Nigeria movement presented the matter before the highest committee on Sunday, and they confirmed me as the Deputy Coordinator for the North-West after the position was taken from the former occupant who left the party,” Mairoba said.
He expressed appreciation to the leadership, led by Mr. Chibuisi Mba, for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to deploy his experience and grassroots mobilisation capacity toward strengthening the movement across the North-West and Nigeria.
