Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, has been appointed as Adamawa State’s representative on the Board of Trustees of the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund (NNSTF).

The appointment was approved by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

According to the statement, the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund was established by the Northern Governors’ Forum as a regional initiative aimed at supporting security agencies in addressing security challenges across the 19 northern states.

The fund is designed to strengthen intelligence sharing, provide operational logistics, enhance collaboration among states, and support community-based security initiatives.

Governor Fintiri said the appointment reflects his administration’s commitment to strengthening regional security efforts and ensuring that Adamawa State is adequately represented in key decisions relating to the protection of lives and property.

He described Boss Mustapha as a seasoned public servant whose experience and leadership qualities make him well-suited for the role.

“His wealth of experience in public service, proven leadership capacity, and national stature make Boss Mustapha eminently qualified to effectively represent the interests of Adamawa State on this all-important Board,” the governor stated.

Fintiri also expressed concern over the growing security challenges facing the country, particularly in Northern Nigeria. He noted that increasing cases of banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and communal conflicts underscore the need for collective action and innovative security solutions.

According to him, the establishment of the Trust Fund by the Northern Governors’ Forum is a proactive step towards supporting security agencies and restoring peace across the region.

The governor congratulated Mustapha on his appointment, describing it as recognition of his integrity, competence, and commitment to national development.

“I am confident that he will bring his vast experience to bear in advancing the objectives of the Trust Fund, fostering synergy among states, and ensuring that Adamawa’s voice is heard in the collective quest for a safer Northern Nigeria,” he added.

Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with federal and regional stakeholders to enhance security and improve the wellbeing of citizens across Adamawa State.
