TCN Planned Outage to Affect Kano, Katsina, Jigawa for 7 Hours

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled power outage across the entire franchise area of the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (Kano Electricity Distribution Company), KEDCO, on Sunday, 31st May 2026.

The outage, which will last from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., is to allow TCN engineers carry out annual maintenance on the Mando–Kumbotso 330kV transmission line and repair a damaged Red Phase Conductor at Tower T187.

According to the notice, the maintenance is part of efforts to improve the stability and reliability of power supply across the national grid.

Customers in Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa States will experience temporary power interruptions during the period, as the affected line is a major supply source to the KEDCO network.

KEDCO expressed regret over the inconvenience and appealed for patience, noting that the exercise is necessary for improved service delivery.

Power supply is expected to be restored after the maintenance is completed later in the day.
