The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA) Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), has visited two officers injuredo during a violent mob attack while carrying out an anti-drug operation in the Dawaki area of Abuja.
This was contained in a statement issued by Femi Babafemi, Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA Headquarters, Abuja, on Tuesday.
According to the statement, officers Ayegh Dooyun Zachariah and Shehu Jamil Ibrahim, are currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital, Abuja, after sustaining severe injuries during a raid on a notorious drug joint on May 15, 2026.
During the visit on Monday, Marwa sympathized with the injured operatives and assured them of the full support of the agency. He pledged that the NDLEA would take full responsibility for their medical treatment and welfare until they fully recover.
“The Agency will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that those responsible for this cowardly attack are arrested and brought to justice. An attack on our officers is an attack on the state, and it will not go unpunished,” Marwa said.

The NDLEA boss commended the officers for their courage, professionalism, and dedication to duty during the high-risk operation, noting that their sacrifices in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking remain invaluable to the nation.
As part of efforts to boost their morale and recognize their bravery, Marwa presented the officers with official letters of commendation personally signed by him, alongside other support packages aimed at aiding their recovery.
He also praised the agency’s medical team and staff of the National Hospital for their swift response and quality medical care that helped stabilize the injured personnel.
Marwa reaffirmed the agency’s determination to sustain its crackdown on drug cartels and criminal networks across the country despite resistance from offenders.
