Kano Deputy Governor Mourns Elder Statesman, Visits Bereaved Families

Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Sunday joined family members, associates, and sympathisers at the Janazah (funeral prayer) of elder statesman, Alhaji Shehu Yahaya Hayatu, who died earlier in the day.

The Janazah prayer took place at the late Hayatu’s residence on Ibrahim Nairo Street, near Dakata Police Station, before his remains were interred at Dakata Cemetery in accordance with Islamic rites.

Deputy Governor Garo described the late elder statesman as a respected figure whose passing represents a significant loss to Kano State and the nation.

He prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant his family, friends, and loved ones the strength and patience to bear the loss.

The late Alhaji Shehu Yahaya Hayatu is survived by several children, including Engineer Muhammad Shehu, a Senior Manager with Gerawa Group of Companies.

In a separate condolence visit, Deputy Governor Garo visited Zango Ward in Kano Municipal Local Government Area to sympathise with the family of the late Hajiya Ummakulthum Musa Zango.

The deceased, who passed away in the early hours of Sunday, was the mother of former member of the House of Representatives representing Kano Municipal, Hon. Haruna Musa Fatahi, and Dr. Muhammad Musa Zango, a former aspirant for the Kano Central Senatorial seat.

During the visit, Garo extended his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant her eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus, and provide her family with the fortitude to cope with the loss.

The Deputy Governor reaffirmed the Kano State Government’s solidarity with grieving families during moments of bereavement and prayed for peace and comfort for all those affected.
