KANET Seeks REMASAB Partnership on Environmental Sustainability

The Kano Network of Non-Governmental Organisations (KANET) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing environmental sustainability through stronger collaboration with government agencies, following an advocacy visit to the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB).

The delegation, led by KANET Chair, Barrister Nura Ahmad Muhammad, alongside Co-Chair, Zainab Nasir Ahmad, paid the visit to the Managing Director of REMASAB, Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil, to strengthen collaboration and foster strategic partnerships between the agency and civil society organisations (CSOs) in promoting a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable Kano State.

During the meeting, both parties explored opportunities for joint action in environmental sanitation, public awareness, community engagement, waste management and sustainable development initiatives.

They stressed the importance of collective efforts in tackling environmental challenges and improving the well-being of communities across the state.

Speaking during the visit, Barrister Nura Ahmad Muhammad commended the leadership of REMASAB under Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil for its strategic initiatives and innovative use of technology in maintaining a cleaner Kano.

He reaffirmed KANET’s commitment to working closely with the agency and other stakeholders to advance sustainable environmental practices across the state.

The advocacy visit forms part of KANET’s broader efforts to strengthen partnerships between government institutions and civil society organisations in driving sustainable development and building a cleaner, greener and more resilient Kano State.
