Hayatuddeen Sadik Bello, a Junior Secondary 3 student at Ummul-Qura Science Academy in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has developed technological innovations designed to help the community alleviate daily life challenges.

The student revealed this during an event held on the school premises in Azare to award prizes to talented students in recognition of their academic excellence in a program of speech and prize giving occasion.

Hayatuddeen expressed his strong desire to develop technologies that would assist his community by easing the hardships of daily life.

The student, who demonstrated aptitude for scientific innovation, stated that his primary goal is to produce energy using cow dung and to create a fire-fighting vehicle—initiatives motivated by the prevailing high costs of petrol and cooking gas.

During the school’s awards ceremony—which celebrated academic talent and included a Qur’anic memorization component—the student showcased his inventions and demonstrated how they function in practice. Some of the inventions created by the student include a cooking stove powered by a water-petrol mixture, a jet-style vehicle, a helicopter, a gas-powered device, a boat, a grinding machine, and other technological items; these were showcased during the awards ceremony honoring students who demonstrated outstanding academic performance this term.

“My future ambition is to produce innovations that will make daily life easier for the community by addressing some of the challenges they face,” said Hayatuddeen.

When we spoke to Hayatuddeen’s father, Abubakar Sadik Bello, about how he felt upon learning his son had emerged as a champion—particularly through his technological innovations—he replied that he had never experienced such indescribable joy as he did on the day his son was recognized for his technological prowess.

“I honestly didn’t even realize when tears of joy began to stream from my eyes; I felt such immense happiness, and I view this success not just as his alone, but as a victory for everyone.”

He then thanked Allah (SWT) for bestowing upon his son the gift of innovation—a talent that allowed him to develop these inventions while still in Junior Secondary School (JSS 3).

Malam Abubakar Sadik Bello also expressed his gratitude to the teachers at Ummul-Qurra School for the training and guidance they provided to Hayatuddeen, enabling him to acquire the skills that led to this achievement.

Earlier, the administration of Ummul-Qura School stated that it organizes such events to reward outstanding students with prizes, thereby encouraging both them and their classmates to focus on their studies.
