The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has omitted the names of Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, the New Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Kano State, and his running mate, Mustapha Rabi’u Kwankwaso, from its published list of candidates.
INEC released the list of candidates for various positions on Sunday, but the names of the NDC governorship candidates in Kano were missing.
However, the party has attributed the omission to an error, expressing confidence that the issue would be resolved.
Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofarmata, Secretary of the Kwankwasiyya Caucus and NDC House of Representatives candidate in Kano, said Gwarzo completed his registration within the stipulated period and that the party submitted his name through INEC’s online portal.

In a statement, Kofarmata said the party had received assurances that an error occurred during the entry of the candidate’s details, adding that INEC was working to correct the problem.
He urged party supporters to remain calm and continue their activities despite the development.
As of the time of filing this report, INEC had not issued an official explanation for the omission of the NDC candidates’ names from the published list.
