Gwarzo Clinches Kano NDC Governorship Ticket

Former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The development was announced on Friday by Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, spokesperson to the former deputy governor, who disclosed that Gwarzo would be formally affirmed alongside other party candidates during the NDC affirmation ceremony.

According to the statement, candidates for the State House of Assembly, National Assembly, governorship, and presidential elections will also be affirmed during the event.

Gwarzo, a seasoned politician and administrator, brings decades of public service experience to the contest.

He previously served as Deputy Governor of Kano State and was twice elected chairman of a local government council. He also served as commissioner in four ministries within the state, contributing to policy development and implementation across critical sectors.

The former deputy governor also served as a member of the National Assembly Service Commission and later chaired the Governing Board of the Federal College of Education, Kontagora.

His emergence is expected to strengthen the NDC’s political standing and boost the party’s campaign ahead of the elections.
