Fintiri Commends Adamawa Scholars in Turkey

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commended Adamawa State students studying in Turkey under the state government’s overseas scholarship programme for their outstanding academic performance and commitment to excellence.

The governor gave the commendation during a visit to Istinye University in Istanbul, where about 200 Adamawa students are pursuing various master’s degree programmes sponsored by the state government.

The visit was aimed at assessing the students’ welfare and academic progress as part of the administration’s commitment to human capital development and capacity building.

During the engagement, the management of Istinye University informed Governor Fintiri that the Adamawa students have distinguished themselves academically, recording impressive performances across different disciplines.

According to university officials, many of the students are earning excellent grades and have demonstrated dedication, discipline, and commitment to their studies.

The university management praised the Adamawa State Government for sustaining the scholarship initiative, describing it as a strategic investment in the future of the state and its people.

Officials noted that the students have continued to justify the government’s confidence in them through their academic achievements and positive conduct, thereby projecting a good image of Adamawa State and Nigeria.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Fintiri expressed satisfaction with the students’ performance, saying their achievements have validated the objectives of the scholarship programme.

He explained that the beneficiaries were selected strictly on merit and stressed that the initiative is designed to develop skilled manpower, empower young people, and strengthen the state’s professional workforce.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in education, describing it as a critical driver of sustainable development and economic growth.

Governor Fintiri also announced that arrangements have been concluded to sponsor another batch of 200 students to pursue master’s degree programmes in Australia and Canada under the same scholarship scheme.

According to him, the programme is intended to expose beneficiaries to global knowledge, innovation, and best practices that will contribute to the development of Adamawa State upon their return.

He urged the students to remain focused on their academic pursuits, maintain high standards of excellence, and continue to serve as worthy ambassadors of the state and the country.

The overseas scholarship programme remains one of the flagship educational initiatives of the Fintiri administration, aimed at producing highly skilled professionals capable of driving innovation and sustainable development in Adamawa State.
