President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after spending the Eid-el-Kabir holiday in Lagos, where he participated in a series of political, governmental and diplomatic engagements.

The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Tuesday evening and was received by senior government officials, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

His return marks the end of a holiday period during which he hosted several high-profile visitors and attended official events in the commercial city.

During the Sallah celebrations, the president received delegations that included Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the National Assembly led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, governors under the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

While in Lagos, he attended the International Fleet Review held at the Eko Atlantic waterfront as part of activities marking the 70th anniversary of the Nigerian Navy.

At the event, he commissioned three naval vessels — NNS Oloibiri, NNS Mambila and NNS Gurara — aimed at strengthening the Navy’s operational capacity and maritime security efforts.

President Tinubu also held talks with the President of Benin Republic, Romuald Wadagni, with discussions focused on regional cooperation, bilateral relations and economic partnerships between the neighbouring countries.

The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties within the West African sub-region amid growing economic and security challenges.
