A renowned Kano-based photographer, Sarakee NG, has been honoured with a Medal of Honour at the Gaya Facebook Connect event held on Sunday in Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State.
Presenting the award, the organizers commended Sarakee for his outstanding contributions to the development of Gaya through photography.
They noted that he has consistently used his skills and creativity to tell compelling stories, transforming captured images into meaningful narratives and actionable insights that promote the community’s growth and development.
The organizers described the award as a recognition of his dedication and commitment to projecting the positive image of Gaya through visual storytelling.

In his acceptance remarks, Sarakee expressed gratitude to the organizers for the honour bestowed on him. He pledged to sustain his efforts in using photography as a tool for development, promotion, and positive engagement.
He further assured that he would continue to deploy his creativity and professional expertise to showcase the rich culture, achievements, and potentials of Gaya Local Government, Kano State, and Nigeria as a whole.
The event attracted several notable personalities, including Bashir Ahmad, former aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, the Vice Chairman of Gaya Local Government, councillors, traditional rulers, and other top government officials.
