The Plateau Initiative for Development and Advancement of Natives (PIDAN), Central Zone, has condemned the killing of at least 15 persons, including security personnel, in Kawel Community of Mushere District, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Alpha John Dakwak, and Secretary, Prof. Katkukah Danjuma Gokum, the group described the attack as a gruesome and senseless act that has thrown the community into mourning.

According to PIDAN, the attack, which reportedly occurred at night, left several families devastated and heightened fears among residents of the area.

The organisation expressed concern over the recurring attacks on innocent citizens, stressing that residents should be allowed to live peacefully in their ancestral communities without fear of violence.

“We strongly condemn this senseless act of violence and the continued attacks on innocent citizens whose only desire is to live peacefully in their ancestral homes,” the statement said.

PIDAN extended its condolences to the families of the victims, the people of Mushere District, Bokkos Local Government Area and Plateau State, praying for the repose of the deceased and comfort for those affected by the tragedy.
