In a heartwarming display of integrity, Nigerian Oluleye Olusegun Emmanuel returned 430 Moroccan Dirham that was mistakenly overpaid to him while attending a capacity-building workshop in Morocco.
Emmanuel, an employee of Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission, was in Morocco with his team for the event organized by North East Consultancy Limited.
During a currency exchange transaction, the shop owner inadvertently overpaid Emmanuel. Realizing the mistake, he immediately informed his team lead, Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, who verified the overpayment and arranged for the funds to be returned to the shop owner.

Emmanuel’s act of honesty has earned him widespread recognition and praise.
In an interview, Emmanuel attributed his actions to his personal values, saying, “I am always content with what I have and believe in returning what doesn’t belong to me.”
He encouraged fellow Nigerians to maintain honesty and act as ambassadors of their country wherever they go. His selfless act has made him a “true ambassador” of Nigeria, according to the Moroccan Tourism Agency and local police.

Emmanuel’s exemplary conduct has earned him several accolades, including an award as the workshop’s best participant from North East Consultancy Limited’s CEO.
The Registrar General of Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission, Barrister Hussaini Ishaq Magaji SAN, also praised Emmanuel for representing the commission with honor and promised to issue a recommendation letter in recognition of his ethical conduct.
