KSH Foundation made this known in a press statement signed by Augustina Okpechi, Project Lead of the EveryGirl initiative, on Friday.

“As a foundation, we take immense pride in laying a solid foundation for these young women, from which success stories will emerge. Witnessing their passion and enthusiasm for continued learning has been incredibly rewarding. We are exceptionally grateful to our tutors, who have significantly contributed to the program’s success,” said Jennifer Ijeh, Community Manager at KSH Foundation.

Owei Sylvia, a participant, shared, “Girl Connect was an amazing experience. I gained insights into data transmission across the internet, cyber threats, and cyber wellness practices. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this program.”

Reflecting on the impact of the program, Amina, a program assistant from WiDS Abuja, said, “Initially, our young girls thought this would be just another computer class. However, we transitioned to understanding how to leverage the internet and social media for their future careers. The tutorial on volunteering was particularly valuable, as it introduced an aspect of learning that I discovered later in life.”

This phase offers continued learning opportunities, a fully funded immersive experience in Abuja, laptop provision, and 90 days of group mentorship. These participants will benefit from hands-on learning and mentorship, solidifying their understanding and application of the skills acquired during the virtual sessions.

The EveryGirl 2.0 (Girl Connect) training covered comprehensive courses, including Introduction to Internet Technology, Internet Communication Tools and Cyber Consciousness, Utilizing Web Browsers and Social Media, Managing Digital Presence and Digital Promotions, Careers in the Internet, and Cyber Wellness. Successful partnerships with numerous hubs and non-profit organizations nationwide facilitated the virtual training program.
