The Emir of Karaye, His Highness Alhaji Muhammad Maharaz, has congratulated the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on his appointment as Deputy Governor.
The Emir’s message was delivered through a delegation from the Karaye Emirate Council led by the Wamban Karaye, Alhaji Balarabe Surajo, during a visit to the Deputy Governor’s office on Monday. The Emir is currently in Saudi Arabia performing the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
Speaking on behalf of the Emir, the delegation leader described the relationship between Karaye Emirate and Garo as longstanding and cordial, founded on mutual respect and understanding.
He conveyed the Emir’s prayers and best wishes to the Deputy Governor, expressing confidence in his ability to contribute to the growth and development of Kano State.
The delegation also commended Garo for maintaining strong ties with traditional institutions.

In his response, Deputy Governor Garo thanked the Emir for the goodwill and congratulatory message.
He described the Emir as a respected traditional ruler whose guidance and prayers remain invaluable.
The Deputy Governor also appreciated the delegation for the visit and prayed for the successful completion of the Emir’s Hajj exercise, as well as the safe return of the Emir and all Nigerian pilgrims.
