The Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reiterated its commitment to remaining open to the advice, demands and concerns of citizens across all Senatorial Districts.
The State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, stated this on behalf of Governor Yusuf while receiving members of a forum known as “Muryar Kano ta Kudu” (Voice of Kano South Forum) at his office.
During the meeting, Garo appreciated the forum for the visit and stressed the importance of promoting peace, unity and harmony among communities.
“No community can prosper in isolation. Forums such as this, which promote unity, can ultimately contribute to the economic growth of the region, the state and the nation at large,” he said.
The Deputy Governor encouraged members of the forum to sustain their efforts, describing the initiative as commendable, particularly for recognising and appreciating the developmental strides of the state government in the region.
He also acknowledged notable personalities from Kano South who have contributed immensely to the development of the region and Kano State, including Senator Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, Rt. Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa and Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Sani Rogo, among others.
Garo further appreciated traditional and religious leaders, as well as members of the business community in the region, for their continued support for the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

He assured the forum that more developmental projects would be executed across Kano South, alongside continued consultations and deliberations aimed at advancing the overall development of Kano State.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Barrister Sabi’u Abdullahi Usman, said the forum, which comprises representatives from all 16 local government areas of Kano South, visited to appreciate Governor Yusuf’s administration for the provision of various infrastructure projects across the region.
He listed some of the projects to include the construction of the Dan-Soshiya Dam in Kiru Local Government Area, the establishment of Gaya Polytechnic, and the relocation of Rano Polytechnic to Sumaila Local Government Area, alongside the provision of a permanent site for the institution.
He also mentioned plans for the conversion of Rano General Hospital to the Rano Federal Medical Centre, among other developmental interventions.
The forum, however, appealed to the state government to consider the rehabilitation of a major road connecting several local government areas in the region.
Members of the forum also pledged their continued support for the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf across the 16 local government areas of Kano South.
