Kano Dep. Governor Represents Gov Yusuf at Chidari, Bichi Empowerment Programmes

Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the 8th Mega Empowerment Programme organised by the member representing Dambatta/Makoda Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari.

The programme, held in Dambatta LGA on Friday, provided beneficiaries with cars, motorcycles, tricycles, sewing machines, water pump machines and cash support.

Speaking at the event, The Deputy Governor commended Chidari for sustaining empowerment initiatives aimed at supporting constituents, describing the programme as an example of interventions targeted at improving the livelihoods of women and youths.

He said the initiative reflected the broader efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to support citizens through various empowerment and development programmes.

Garo also highlighted some of the state government’s interventions in Dambatta and Makoda Local Government Areas, including electricity projects across about eight wards, road construction and school development.

He said the government would continue to support programmes targeting women and youths, adding that further empowerment initiatives were expected from the state government.

The Deputy Governor also pledged to provide 10 wheelchairs for persons with disabilities in the constituency.

Garo urged the beneficiaries to make productive use of the items and support programmes aimed at improving their livelihoods, while also mobilising their families, supporters and well-wishers to vote for the APC from top to bottom in the 2027 general elections.

Earlier, Chidari said the exercise marked the eighth empowerment programme organised for constituents, adding that previous interventions included the distribution of cars, motorcycles, tricycles, sewing and grinding machines, as well as cash assistance.

He said he hoped to organise another empowerment programme in the coming months.

Chidari also listed some of his constituency projects to include construction of classrooms in various wards, provision of boreholes, ongoing road projects and sponsorship of students’ education.

He said the empowerment was designed to provide practical support to constituents and improve economic opportunities within Dambatta and Makoda Federal Constituency.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Dambatta Local Government Area, Hon. Jamilu Abubakar Dambatta, thanked Chidari for the initiative and pledged continued cooperation among APC stakeholders in Dambatta and Makoda.

Among dignitaries at the event were the Kano State APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa; Commissioner for Education, Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda; former Deputy Governor, Abdullahi T. Gwarzo; Hon. Babangandu, member representing Kabo Local Government Area, and other political stakeholders.

In a related development, the Deputy Governor proceeded to Bichi Local Government Area on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to attend another empowerment programme for over 2000 small and medium-scale enterprises organised by Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, member representing Bichi Federal Constituency

The programme initiated by the member popularly known as Abba Bichi saw the distribution of Fishmongers, Prime fowl and Tea Loaf to constituents.

The Deputy Governor commended Hon. Abba Bichi for the empowerment initiative, describing it as a step towards supporting small and medium-scale enterprises and improving the livelihoods of constituents.

He urged the beneficiaries to make productive use of the items and sustain the support by using the opportunities provided to improve their businesses and economic well-being.
