Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has praised the Nigerian Navy’s emphasis on training and professional development, describing it as vital to producing capable personnel for national service.

The Deputy Governor stated this while representing Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the Combined Graduation Ceremony of
various courses at the Nigerian Navy Logistics College, Dawakin Tofa.
Officers and ratings who successfully completed five different training programmes were honoured during the ceremony. The programmes comprised Logistics Officers’ Basic Course 37, Petty Officers Qualifying Course 48, Leading Seaman Qualifying Course 48, Basic Qualifying Course 56, and Basic Projects Qualifying Course 4.

Congratulating the graduating officers, ratings and students, Alhaji Garo described their success as a reflection of discipline, perseverance and dedication.

“Your graduation today is a testimony to your perseverance, discipline, commitment and resilience. You should be proud of this achievement, as it marks a significant
milestone in your professional career within the Nigerian Navy,” he said.
He urged the graduates to uphold the values of honour, discipline, loyalty and selfless service while remaining dedicated to the defence of the nation and the promotion of peace and security.
Earlier, the Commandant of the College, Commodore A.A. Madawaki, commended the graduates for their conduct throughout the training period and charged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the discharge of their duties.
“The knowledge, skills, and values instilled in you throughout this training are not ends in themselves; they are tools meant to shape your character, guide your decisions, and prepare you for greater responsibilities,” he stated.
In a symbolic gesture of appreciation, the Nigerian Navy Logistics College presented a souvenir to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, received on his behalf by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of certificates and awards to outstanding participants in the various courses.
