Some moments say more because nothing about them was rehearsed; they simply come naturally.
During a recent courtesy visit by social media influencers, reference was made to the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, while the name of the Executive Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, was unintentionally omitted. The Deputy Governor immediately noticed the omission and calmly corrected it:
“No, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf first.”

The correction was immediate and effortless. There was no hesitation, no fuss, and no attempt to draw attention to himself. The order was simply restored, the conversation continued, and the room responded with applause.
It was a small moment, but one that carried its own meaning.
To give your principal his rightful place, even when he is not in the room; to ensure that his name is neither buried nor overshadowed by your own; to instinctively protect that place without being prompted—there is something to be said for that.
It speaks of integrity. It speaks of loyalty. And it speaks of the deep respect one has for one’s principal.
In the end, the aim is simple: to do what is right, to do what is needed, and to remain true to the purpose entrusted to you.
