Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), ZariaAhmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the delivery of distance learning programmes through the adoption of digital technologies and strategic partnerships.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, stated this during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the university and DazzleView Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd, Guangzhou, China, on Monday, June 1, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs Directorate, Mallam Auwalu Umar, the partnership is expected to enhance collaboration in educational technology, research, capacity building, and industry engagement.
Prof. Ahmed said technology-driven solutions could help address one of the most pressing educational challenges facing developing countries—the growing number of out-of-school children. He noted that digital innovation offers effective pathways for expanding access to quality education, particularly for underserved and vulnerable populations.
He stressed that partnerships between universities and technology firms have the potential to transform educational delivery and bridge learning gaps through innovative approaches.

Describing the agreement as a significant milestone, the Vice-Chancellor said the collaboration would create opportunities for connecting academic knowledge with practical applications while promoting innovation and inclusion.
“Together, we can connect knowledge with practical application, transform ideas into solutions, and ensure that technology serves as a powerful tool for inclusion and development,” he said.
Ahmed explained that the smart education MoU signed by both organisations would serve as a foundation for a stronger and more productive relationship in the years ahead.
The Vice-Chancellor also expressed appreciation to DazzleView for its continued support and hospitality, recalling the company’s donation of a smart classroom to the university in 2022.
According to him, the facility has significantly enhanced teaching and learning at ABU and demonstrated the transformative impact of technology in education.
He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation, adding that ABU is placing greater emphasis on entrepreneurship and the commercialisation of research outputs.
Ahmed noted that the institution remains focused on ensuring that research discoveries and innovations are translated into practical solutions capable of addressing societal challenges and contributing to national development.
