Austine John, a neighbour of the victim, said the kidnappers arrived and fired shots as they raided the barrister’s house and seized his wife and relative while the barrister fled.
“It began around 10:00 We heard gunshots all of a sudden, and we realised something was wrong. I ran out to check if my gate was properly locked.”

“Then we heard the gunshot in the barrister’s house, and we informed the estate’s management, who quickly responded. Soon, army personnel showed up and started firing too, but by then, the kidnappers had already taken the wife and one of the relatives of the barrister.”
“This is very distressing because we were afraid to sleep all night in case the kidnappers returned. President Tinubu should kindly assist Nigerians in stopping this savage act by the kidnappers.”
