Saudi Arabia Sponsors Nigerian Pilgrims for Umrah

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its dedication to fostering Islamic unity by hosting a farewell ceremony for 20 Nigerian pilgrims under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program for Umrah 2025. The event, organized by the Saudi Embassy in Abuja, showcased the Kingdom’s commitment to facilitating access to Islam’s holiest sites.

The ceremony was presided over by His Excellency Faisal bin Ibrahim Al-Ghamdi, Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria. In his address, Ambassador Al-Ghamdi emphasized the Kingdom’s unwavering support for Muslims globally, stating that serving pilgrims is both a sacred duty and a profound honor for Saudi leadership.

Initiated by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program provides full sponsorship for Muslims from various backgrounds to perform Umrah. The program highlights Saudi Arabia’s role as the spiritual heart of the Islamic world and its efforts to strengthen bonds among Muslims.

Ambassador Al-Ghamdi expressed gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their visionary leadership. He noted the Kingdom’s significant investments, exceeding $100 billion, in expanding and modernizing the Two Holy Mosques. These enhancements include advanced infrastructure and crowd management systems to ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience.

“Saudi Arabia remains committed to improving the spiritual and logistical aspects of pilgrimage,” Al-Ghamdi remarked, urging adherence to the Kingdom’s laws for the safety and comfort of all pilgrims.

The program’s beneficiaries expressed heartfelt appreciation to King Salman for the generous hospitality and unwavering support in facilitating their spiritual journey. Covering travel, accommodation, and other logistics, the initiative continues to symbolize Saudi Arabia’s dedication to serving Islam and Muslims worldwide.
