Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), on Thursday marked the Maulud celebration in honor of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) with a spiritually uplifting event that emphasized love, devotion, and the importance of emulating the Prophet’s exemplary character.

this was contained in a statement signed by the Ag. Director, Corporate Affairs and Marketing, Bilal Dahiru Tijjani.

This newspaper reports that the occasion drew notable Islamic scholars (ulamas), staff, students, and members of the Kano community who gathered to reflect on the Prophet’s life and teachings.

The event featured enlightening lectures focused on fostering sincere love for the Prophet (PBUH) and instilling Islamic values in daily life.

In his keynote address, the Vice-Chancellor of KHAIRUN, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the university the opportunity to celebrate the sacred day.
He highlighted that true devotion to the Prophet (PBUH) is not merely demonstrated through ceremonies, but through everyday actions rooted in his teachings.

“Organizing gatherings alone is not enough,” Professor Garba remarked.
“True love for the Prophet (PBUH) is shown when parents and guardians teach their children by example—through honesty, kindness, humility, and righteous conduct. This is how we keep the Prophet’s legacy alive.”

The Vice-Chancellor further encouraged the Muslim community to raise the next generation with values such as compassion, sincerity, and integrity—hallmarks of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life.

The Maulud celebration concluded with special prayers for peace, unity, and divine blessings upon the university, Kano State, Nigeria, and the entire Muslim Ummah.
