As Muslims around the world observe fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, the Alkhairi Orphanage and Women Development (AOWD) has commenced a Ramadan feeding program.
The Executive Director of AOWD, Rukayya Abdulrahman, stated that the organization provides iftar meals to 100 vulnerable individuals in the Dorayi Tinga area, Gwale Local Government Area in Kano State every day.

“The Holy Month of Ramadan underscores the importance of sharing food and water, particularly given the challenges faced by many in Nigeria.”
“As Muslims, we find ourselves in the Holy Month of Ramadan. Even beyond our own hunger, it is a time when we should strive to share food and water. Knowing the conditions we are in, this act of generosity is truly encouraging. It is a commendable endeavor,” she emphasized.
“The distribution of iftar meals is made possible with support from the Dangote Foundation.”

Rukayya further highlighted that generosity knows no financial boundaries: “You don’t have to be a millionaire or a billionaire to help needy people.”
“The foundation remains committed to providing basic necessities to the community as long as it is feasible. In the spirit of Ramadan, the Dangote Foundation extends warm wishes to all Muslims worldwide, praying for a memorable and blessed month. May Almighty God accept our ibadah (worship).”
