ADSI Donates 2.5 Million Naira Worth of Materials to Goron Dutse Remand Home

The Arewa Development Support Initiative (ADSI) has donated essential materials worth 2.5 million naira to the Goron Dutse Remand Home in Kano State.
The chairman of the association in Kano, Prof. Aliyu Abdu, stated that the donation aligns with the association’s ongoing efforts to support less privileged people.

He noted that Goron Dutse Remand Home was one of the selected in stitutions identified as needing assistance.
Prof. Abdu explained that ADSI is a non-profit organization aimed at fostering development in the northern region by providing solutions to various challenges. The group relies on monthly contributions of at least 2,000 naira from its members to fund initiatives such as skills acquisition programs to uplift the poor.
“Our activities are financed through members’ contributions, with a minimum of 2,000 naira each. We are pleased to report that 76 individuals trained in our skills acquisition program, and empowered with startup kits, are now self-reliant, with some even employing others,” he said.

Speaking on the donated items, Malam Muhammad Jafar Na’aba listed the materials, which include five Italian chairs, 168 cups, 144 bowls, four solar-powered lights, four rechargeable torchlights, 150 mosquito nets, 150 mats, a sprayer machine, medicines, 20 buckets, and four balls, among others.
He further noted that the total amount spent on the materials exceeded 2.5 million naira. He also expressed gratitude to the national leadership of the association for their unwavering support whenever needed.
In his remarks, Muhammad Hashim, the officer in charge of the remand home, expressed his gratitude for the generous gesture.

“We are truly happy with this donation; it came at the right time when we needed it the most. We are very grateful and will ensure that it directly benefits the children. We will not misuse or mismanage it.”
Hajiya Hafsat Hayatuddeen, a member of the Board of Trustees and National Vice Chairman of ADSI, stated that the association will closely monitor the use of the materials to ensure they benefit the children and are not misappropriated for staff use.
“It is our practice to follow up on donations to ensure they are not misused. We have a committee specifically tasked with monitoring all donations and ensuring they are properly utilized.”
She added, “We started this organization a five years ago with the goal of uniting the people of Arewa (Northern Nigeria). We call on everyone in the region to support our work, and we are grateful to the national trustees for their ongoing assistance.”
“Our organization operates in 19 states across the country, and regardless of whether one is Muslim or Christian, it is open to all. Our goal is to develop the northern part of the country.”
