Troops of Sector 7, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have arrested six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and recovered seven firearms during a stop-and-search operation in Kaduna State.

The operation, conducted at about 9:40 a.m. on Monday, took place at the Samaru checkpoint in Samaru Village, Zonkwa District of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area. According to the military, the suspects were intercepted while travelling in an ash-coloured Mercedes-Benz vehicle with registration number EDO GUE-722-LV, en route from Jos, Plateau State, to Niger State.

In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, four sub-machine guns, and the vehicle used by the suspects.

The statement disclosed that one of the suspects attempted to flee during the operation but was swiftly apprehended by the troops. The suspect sustained injuries in the process, was immediately brought under control, and is currently in stable condition while assisting investigators with useful information.

According to the military, all six suspects, along with the recovered weapons and the vehicle, are currently in military custody for further interrogation and intelligence exploitation aimed at identifying other members of the suspected network and uncovering possible links to criminal or terrorist activities.
