Garo Assures Former MDA Chiefs of Inclusive Governance

Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has assured former heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state that their experience and contributions would be harnessed to advance the development agenda of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration.

Garo gave the assurance on Tuesday while receiving members of the Forum of Former Heads of MDAs, who paid him a courtesy visit at his office to congratulate him on his emergence as Deputy Governor.

The delegation, comprising former Managing Directors, Director-Generals and Executive Secretaries, also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the administration in delivering good governance to the people of Kano State.

Expressing gratitude for the visit, the Deputy Governor commended members of the forum for their continued support and goodwill towards him and Governor Yusuf.

“I am sincerely grateful for this congratulatory visit and for the love and support you have continued to show the Governor and myself over the years,” he said.

He noted that the administration values the wealth of experience possessed by former public office holders and assured them that their advice would be utilized in promoting the state’s progress.

According to Garo, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf remains committed to carrying experienced individuals along in the affairs of government and would continue to engage them in pursuing the administration’s objectives.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation and former Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Alhaji Saleh Jili, said the visit was aimed at congratulating the Deputy Governor and celebrating a leader whom members of the forum regard as a mentor.

He noted that Garo had over the years provided guidance and support to many members of the association and prayed for Allah’s guidance and success in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Jili further assured the Deputy Governor that members of the forum remain available and willing to contribute their quota to the success of Governor Yusuf’s administration.

“We are still young and not tired. We are always ready to support the government in any way possible,” he said.
