The Community Support and Development Initiative (CSADI) has donated food items and other essential materials to the Goron Dutse Remand Home in Kano State as part of its ongoing support for vulnerable children.
Speaking during the visit on Sunday, the Executive Director of CSADI, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed Suleiman, MFR, JP, said the gesture aligns with the organisation’s commitment to improving the welfare of less privileged individuals.

Hajiya Zainab noted that CSADI has supported the remand home for several years. She expressed satisfaction with the improved condition of the children compared to her last visit.
“I’m very happy with what I have seen today because the last time I came here, I left angry due to the terrible condition I met the children in. But now, Alhamdulillah, their condition has improved.” she said.

She said the team also sensitised the children, advising them to refrain from behaviours such as stealing, fighting, and other actions that brought them to the remand home. She urged them to be obedient and follow instructions from both their parents and caregivers.
Hajiya Zainab equally called on parents to pay regular visits to their children in the remand home and ensure they take responsibility for their wellbeing.
She further disclosed that CSADI will look into the cases of some children with minor offences and provide them with legal support.

“We came with a lawyer who has always been assisting these children. We will provide legal support for those with minor cases. Some of the items we brought include milk, cups, biscuits, sweets, sugar, and other food materials,” she added.
She also revealed that CSADI plans to return before the fasting period to offer additional support and will, in the future, introduce skills acquisition training for the children.
On his part, the Officer-in-Charge of the Remand Home, Malam Musa Idris Tarauni, thanked CSADI for its continuous support, offering prayers for the Executive Director.
He assured that the items would be judiciously used for the benefit of the children.
“We are truly happy with this donation; it came at the right time when we needed it most. We are very grateful and will ensure it directly benefits the children. We will not misuse or mismanage it,” he said.
In his remarks, Barr. Abbas Kabir commended CSADI for its impactful work and pledged his continued support.
He also advised parents to take proper care of their children so that they can become good ambassadors of their homes.
