The Ruruma community in Kaduna State are urging the Federal Government to establish a military base in their headquarters to put an end to the constant killings and abductions by bandits . The community’s National President, Mr. Daniel Dallah, made this appeal in a statement, emphasizing the need for prompt action to restore security and protect lives and property in the area.
“Many people have been displaced over the years due to the ongoing violence, and the community is eager to return to their ancestral lands and farms”.
Their traditional leader, Dauda Abdulsalam, hasn’t been able to return home for several years due to an assassination attempt by bandits. The community is questioning why they have been excluded from security reports and is willing to cooperate with security agencies and the government to address their plight.
Dalla added that, “The proposed military base will benefit not just the Ruruma community but also neighboring communities like Dokan Karji, Sabon Gida Libere, and many others. These areas currently have no military presence, not even a police division” .
The community is appealing to the Federal Government to support their Governor, Sen. Uba Sani, as he responds to their situation.
In a recent incident, bandits abducted the village head of Ungwan Babangida, Babangida Sojiji, and 14 others during a midnight raid in Kauru Local Government Area . This highlights the urgency of the situation and the need for prompt action to ensure the safety and security of the people.
