The Gombe Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics Championships has announced its new date, now set for November 11 to 16, 2024.
The prestigious Pantami Stadium will host this major event, welcoming over 85 secondary schools from 11 local government areas across Gombe State, marking a historic moment for sports in the region.Initially scheduled for October 18 to 24, the championship was postponed due to a scheduling conflict with government activities involving the State Education Ministry. In preparation for the event, more than 65 Games Masters have been trained, and approximately 3,065 young athletes are expected to compete. The Games Village, where athletes will camp, is ready, and training sessions are currently underway in various schools.

Hon. Ahmad Shuaibu Gara Gombe, the Chairman of the Main Organizing Committee (MoC), has urged all participating schools, athletes, and stakeholders to gear up for this significant talent hunting championship. He assured that all logistical arrangements are in place, and the extra time gained from the date change will allow sponsors to finalize valuable partnerships that will enhance the event, which will be streamed online for a global audience.

The Chairman/CEO of Green White Green (GWG) Sports Center Ltd, Hon. Gombe, expressed appreciation for the collaborative effort that led to the successful rescheduling of the event.
