The 2024 Sabon Gari Trade Fair Exhibition in Kano State, organized by the Ulin Support Initiative, commenced on Friday in Kano.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Linda Uche, the Executive Director of Ulin Support Initiative and the convener of the Sabon Gari Trade Fair, stated that the fair is part of the initiative’s activities to empower the community, especially women.

“This is the second time we are hosting this trade fair. As you can see, we have numerous vendors offering a variety of commodities, and there is also a significant customer presence.”
She added that “Ninety-eight percent of our vendors are women, so this is our way of empowering the community, particularly women, to sell goods and earn some money. I urge the government to support this initiative to achieve something larger, and I also wish my vendors massive sales.”

On his part, the Ward Head of Sabon Gari, Alhaji Yahaya Abdulkareem, praised the trade fair as a very good initiative and encouraged the convener to expand it so that more people from across the state and even the country can participate.
“I would like the organizer to expand the event and invite government officials and the Emir to create something bigger than this. I wish her all the best and hope for a successful trade fair,” he said.
